We decided to create a custom mecanum drive train. We decided on this style of drive train because of its omni-directional movement, which we determined would help navigate around the truss in the middle of the field.
Iterations
Initially, our drivetrain was rectangular, but we determined that having a square drive train would allow for greater build area of our sub systems.

Drive train drifts to one side when it is supposed to drive forward. When weight is added to the robot, problem is alleviated. We believe it is an issue with each wheels contact force on the mat not being equal.
10/25/23
We disassembled the entire drive train and tightened all of the fasteners finger tight. We noticed that by lightly tightening all of the bolts, all four of our wheels made even contact with the playing field. We went back and tightened each bolt with blue loctite to keep them in place and leave our drive train in a spot without drift.
